Food court dining might be the new food black but it still can be a little bland and souless, that is unless you're in Brisbane's The Myer Centre for a pop-up treat.
When I first received the invitation was I sceptical? Yes! My food court experiences have usually been brief and best forgotten, but I like to be proven wrong and a Lunchgustation to try out the CBD's biggest and most diverse food court did just that.
Fresh from a revamp which has seen the inclusion of a huge digital screen and two verdant green wall gardens, the court is looking rather nice. There's also some new chairs and a few more touches to come.
I invited 13 regular readers of Ed+bK to join me for lunch at the elegant long table that was set on a podium in the middle of the court.
The wait staff 'lit' the candles and we sat down to dine on food that came straight from the food court outlets via a little styling love.
Here's what we ate -
It certainly was an eye opener to enjoy the food so well presented and in a lovely setting. The string duo made a huge difference to the atmosphere and it was a most enjoyable lunch. A big thank you to The Myer Centre for making the lunch available to Ed+bK readers.
You can enjoy the same treat if you get in early. The lunches are on until March 21.
And another big thank you to the smallest guest who slept through the whole lunch!
