Search for the perfect cupcake - mini iced cupcakes

'A wolf in sheep's clothing' is probably the best way to describe these tempting little numbers.

I spotted them in the bakery section at Woolworths, Noosa Civic Shopping centre, but have since seen them at other Woolworth's stores.

Branded 'Woolworths bakehouse mini iced cupcakes', they are cute as pie and, priced at $3.98 for a nine pack, certainly an economical choice.

The packet describes them as moist vanilla cupcakes topped with strawberry, white or dark chocolate flavoured icing with rainbow sprinkles. The taste was not too bad and at just over 40 cents each I was prepared to suck it up and the nine disappeared between the two of us without much trouble.

However later in the day a nasty oily film kept coming back into our mouths reminding us we had consumed cheap cupcakes. Basically it sure took the shine off that treat and I wouldn't go there again.

Bottom line: cheap but not worth it later in the day.
