Farmer's Market fun

On Sunday morning, it's straight to the Noosa Farmers Market to see cooking demonstrations from four outstanding local and visiting chefs.

You’ll meet the producers, growers and farmers who are the source of Noosa’s excellent food. There will be demonstrations from Nick Holloway from Nu Nu, Palm Cove at 8 am, Executive Chef Ian Curley from The European Group venues at 9 am, Stokehouse Executive Chef Richard Ousby at 10 am and Executive Chef Cameron Mathews from The Long Apron at 11 am.

When: Sunday, May 22, 8 am – 11 am. 



Hola in Hastings

You know the restaurant on the corner of Hastings Street just near the roundabout? Rococo is turning into a Spanish Quarter, Las Esquina Espanol, for with free entry.

It’s going to be a carnival, just like a Spanish village with Spanish wines and food samplings. I’ll be heading to the paella kitchen and also looking for the Spanish cheese and the jamon station. (I love jamon – it’s the best ham ever!). There will be tapas and a barbecue producing plates at prices that won’t make your face sad.

The music will be Flamenco, Latino and Latin jazz. I can feel my heels clicking.

Watch out for Movida’s Frank Camorra, local fave chef Matt Golinski and Gareth and Alex, the miner boys from this year’s MKR.

When: From Friday afternoon to Sunday night. 


Twilight market

Entry is free to Noosa Junction’s Twilight Market at Flava showcasing local artists and artisans. Expect relaxed music and food.

When: Friday night from 5 to 9 pm.



Wine tasting

Entry is free to the Wine Tasting event at Sheraton Noosa Resort & Spa with 22 wineries showing their best drops. Purchase a token for $3 for three tastings or a $6 token for six tastings.

When: Saturday, May 21 from 12 pm to 5 pm.

Up Close and Personal with Pete Evans

So close you may even see the twinkle in those baby blues, this is an opportunity to join celebrity chef and author Pete Evans for ‘The Paleo Way’ at The J Theatre. Enjoy breakfast Pete Evans' style with a muffin and Raw C coconut water before joining Pete for a discussion on the Paleo Way. A Q&A will finish the session. Guests will also receive Pete’s 10-week activation program, The Paleo Way valued at $149 included in the ticket price.

You're Better On Beef

It’s all about showcasing the best of Queensland beef and produce at Lions Park Noosaville on the shore of the Noosa River.

Popular chefs Matt Golinski, Alastair McLeod, Sunny Gilbert and Shane Bailey, along with Bella and Sammy from My Kitchen Rules, will serve up their favourite sirloin dishes paired with Stone & Wood craft beers and selected great Australian wines from Dal Zotto and Sirromet. There will be cooking demonstrations from 1.30pm – 2.30pm and you will have a chance to vote for your favourite dish.

Which of these six will get your vote?

• Matt Golinski’s dish is a Japanese Soba Noodle Salad made with Nolan’s private selection sirloin, Japanese soba noodles and macadamia nuts.

• Shane Bailey’s Kimberley Red Thai Beef Salad with warm beef salad, Noosa red tomatoes and cucumber will have a touch of nam jim.

• Expect Blackened Diamantina Sirloin with anchovy mayonnaise, grilled local cos, and capers from Alastair McLeod.

• Sunny Gilbert will have Pincho Spanish Beef Skewers – fino and paprika marinated Angus sirloin, a salad of pimento, tomato, onion, garlic and sherry dressing.

• Sammy and Bella are creating a Korean BBQ Vale Sirloin with Mary Valley persimmon, ssamjang sauce, pine nuts and lettuce.

All accompanied by Sunshine Coast music legend Carl Wockner and powerhouse band Honey.

When: Sunday 22 May, 11.30am-4.30pm, $15.00 entry pre-purchase (available until midday Saturday 21 May or $25 at the gate). Food and drink tickets will be available for $8 each.
