If you go down to Brisbane's Carseldine markets today, you're sure to find brownies and jams, avocados and relishes, sunflowers and chopping boards. It's all local, much is home made and it's the taste of summer.

There should be a law about brownies that taste this good. I don't know what Zoe puts in to her brownies, but I suggest putting them in a hard to get to spot or you will eat them all at once. Using a family recipe, Zoe's brownies have moved on from the traditional brownie to include over 30 flavours. Find them at the Carseldine Markets every Saturday.
The fresh, crusty bread from Northside Artisan Bakers & Co is worth a visit alone. A true artisan bakery that specialises in organic products, you'll find their breads and pastries at the Carseldine and Nundah Markets.
Skilled woodworker Larry Maykin has over 30 years experience in creating unique wooden pieces in solid timber. You'll find Lazy Larry (really he's anything but lazy) at the Carseldine Markets on Saturday and the Nundah Markets on Sunday.
Locally designed and produced tea towels by Sunshine Kalang - usually known for their sweet and delicious pineapples (it's too hot for them in Queensland at the moment), the Beerwah based farmers continue to expand by creating these beautiful tea towels. They've also got some great heirloom tomatoes at the moment.
Nectarines by Stanthorpe Stone fruit and apples - sourced from local farmers in the Stanthorpe region, the Stanthorpe Stonefruit & Apples stall can be found at the Carseldine, Kuraby & Nundah Markets every weekend.
Julie Sprenger has a passion to find the freshest, tastiest produce and runs her own dedicated mango and avocado stall at the Carseldine Markets every Saturday. Thank you Julie, the fruit was magnificent.
Secret Pantry'sjams and relishes were multi award winners at the Sydney Royal Fine Food show. Find them at the Carseldine and Nundah markets every weekend or at cafes, delis and bakeries around Brisbane including New Farm Deli, Wunderbar at Teneriffe and Hawthorne Garage.
Find Organic Kalamata olives by Maria's Olives at Carseldine and Nundah Markets every Saturday and Sunday respectively.
Add some colour to your home with Alicia Barry's sunflowers and Christmas bush. Talents florist Alicia is dedicated to providing the fresh, beautifully arranged bouquets and my flowers lasted more than a week.
The Carseldine Market is open from 6am to 12 noon and has 180 stall holders.
Best tip: Go early - markets are always busy and the best produce sells out. Or go late and pick up bargains from stall holders who don't want to pack their produce up.
Bottom line: It's a market so prices are generally cheaper than supermarkets and the produce is fresher.
