    This Mother’s Day, Alfred & Constance will be opening the White Lightning Tiki Bar early, with a selection of cocktails on special.  The ‘Mum get’s Tiki’d’ special cocktail menu will include Pina Colada’s and other delicious concoctions from the new Tiki Menu launched in March. The White Lightning Tiki Bar’s Pina Colada was inspired by Caribe Hilton Beachcomber Bar, Puerto Rico, circa 1954, and includes anejo rum, freshly squeezed pineapple juice and house-made cream of coconut.     Open for lunch on Mothers Day from 11am with the normal a la carte menu applies and no surcharge. Children are always welcome at Baguette and the charge is only $1.50 per year for a main, dessert and soft drink.  So a 6 year old costs $9 (cheaper than McDonalds and they get real food).     Mandy's on the Mountain, Clear Mountain

    A $69 three course lunch served with mountain top views and a glass of sparkling wine is the Mother’s Day offering from Mandy’s on the Mountain at Mercure Clear Mountain Lodge. Mother’s Day lunch begins with homemade pumpkin bread before moving onto entrée choices of blow torched prawns with Bloody Mary sorbet, tomato honey comb and Persian feta; duck with beetroot, orange segments, pistachio crush and mint shoots or Swiss brown beignet with gorgonzola, Pickled shimji mushroom, quail egg, asparagus, pecorino and truffle. Executive Chef Scott Logan will offer three main courses - lamb wrapped in pickled vine leaves with olive oil, heirloom tomato salad and basil; eye fillet wrapped in jamon, fried shallots, roasted baby vegetables, jus and petite herbs or homemade ravioli, eggplant, goat’s cheese, micro lettuces, charred teenage leek, preserved lemon and sumac salt.

    Guests will also be able to choose from a dessert buffet of Turkish delight, orange blossom tart, pomegranate and rose water panancotta, mini meringues, mini lemon curd tarts, raspberry tart and edible roses.
    The lodge is also offering an overnight package tailored to pamper mothers and available throughout May. The Restful Respite package includes overnight accommodation, breakfast for two in Mandy’s on the Mountain and one 40 minute massage at Stephanie’s Mountain Spa. The price is $259 per night.

    The Barracks, Petrie Terrace

    The Barracks will host a lavish high tea at Palace Cinemas for Mother’s Day from 10:30am, which includes a screening of the anticipated comedy The Big Wedding. The upstairs of the Palace Barracks Cinema will be transformed into an elegantly adorned high tea affair, allowing guests to take in panoramic views of Brisbane city while enjoying a myriad of traditional high tea delicacies.
