Garden cooking class at Tukka

Sunday, September 11, is shaping up as a foodies dilemma with three events that deserve top attention.

There's the second day of the Real Food Festival at Maleny (10- 11 September), a fascinating talk at the Brisbane Writers Festival by Mark Jensen, Head Chef at the Red Lantern restaurant in Sydney, and nutritionist and author of 'Frugavore', Arabella Forge, on the challenges of Urban Eating and now a Garden Cooking Class at Tukka restaurant in West End.

Tukka's Executive Chef Bryant Wells and Queensland food garden expert Linda Brennan from Ecobotanica are combining their passions for culinary and garden experience. Tukka's wild food garden and restaurant will be opened to a limited group of people. They will be taken by Linda on a journey through the native garden where they'lll smell, taste and learn to grow bush foods, herbs and traditional seasonal vegies.

Then it's into the restaurant for a cooking class where Bryant will show how to use some of the wildly wonderful foods spoken about in the garden to create restaurant quality dishes at home.

The afternoon finishes with a light meal including the featured dishes learned during the class and a glass of wine. Participants will leave with spice packs, plants/seeds, information and recipes.

When: Sunday September 11th from 2:00pm - 4:45pm
